Some foods are so simple, so easy, that they don't even seem worth talking about. But when it comes to avocado toast, it is. Avocado toast is technically just sliced or smashed avocado on top of a piece of toast -- so simple -- but when you take one bite you will quickly realize that it is so much more than that.

You will never be disappointed with a plain, no-frills version of this simple dish for breakfast, lunch, dinner, midnight snack or just because you want another avacado!

Ingredients and Directions

  1. Toast your bread, bagels, English muffins, depending on what you prefer. Spread butter, olive oil or coconut oil if desire onto bread. Smash on avocado with a fork. Top with flaky salt -- don't be stingy -- and any other toppings that fit your fancy.

  2. Repeat as necessary

Options for toppings -
Justamere's Maple Seasoning
mustard greens
sliced radishes
chopped scallions
toasted sesame seeds
Himalayan pink salt
smoked salmon with red onion
sliced tomatoes
fresh herb

Did you know - Nutrient dense foods are those that provide substantial amounts of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients with relatively few calories. One-fifth of a medium avocado (1 oz.) has 50 calories and contributes nearly 20 vitamins and minerals making it a nutrient dense choice. Also botanically a avocado is a  large berry that contains a single seed.  More reasons to eat avocados!!
